Sausage Stars

I got this recipe from my second mom (Laurel) and became completely obsessed with it the second I had one. It's so simple, yet so tasty. So, I give all recipe credit to her and am so grateful to have learned about it, as it has become a staple for all of my family gatherings! Not only is this a perfect appetizer for parties, but with Super Bowl coming up, it's a guaranteed crowd pleaser for guys (and girls!). Enjoy!

Sausage Stars
Time: 30 Minutes / Serving Size: 24

Ingredients:

  • 1 Jimmy Dean Sausage Package, Hot
  • 1 Garlic Clove
  • 1 Package of Ranch Mix
  • 1/2 Cup Sour Cream
  • Won Ton Wrappers (can be found in the refrigerated section of the supermarket)
Directions:

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

Mince the garlic.

Take the sausage out of the package and onto a large non-stick pan.

Crumble the sausage with a wooden spoon or two forks over medium heat. Add the minced garlic. Stir and cook for about 7 minutes or until the sausage is fully done.

While the sausage is cooking, place the won ton wrappers into a cupcake pan.

Set cupcake pan aside. Once the sausage is cooked through, drain on a paper toweled-lined plate, let sit for 2 minutes and transfer to a medium-sized bowl.

Combine the sour cream and ranch packet with the sausage. Mix until well incorporated.

Pour about a tablespoon into the won ton wrappers and bake for 10-15 minutes, until the won tons are nice a golden brown.

Once golden brown, take out of the oven and serve! This is sure to be a hit at your next fun gathering!
Thank you again Laurel for letting me steal your recipe :)
